The ability to move from one mode of transportation to another (i.e. bus to train) during a transit journey. It is important that the transfer between modes be easily safely, and efficiently made, be as short a horizontal distance as possible, (ideally within 250′) and use a minimum of vertical changes (stairs, escalators, elevators). Transit services should be scheduled to minimize transfer wait time.
