The Lincoln Institute of Land Policy is hosting a webinar on how cities have sought to adopt climate equity plans. In the face of a changing climate, communities of color will face a greater brunt of its impact. Through climate equity plans, legacy cities that saw disinvestment in the latter half of the twentieth century have sought to create strategies and interventions to mitigate the climate risks towards these communities.

This webinar will feature Leah Bamberger of Northeastern University’s Climate Justice and Sustainability Hub and the City of Providence’s Sustainability Director Emily Koo and Climate Justice Policy Associate Elder Gonzalez Trejo. They will share lessons learned in Providence in how to seek out and promote environmental justice at the local government level.
