TPA Tuesdays Symposium: Adapting to Change

Every four years, the NJTPA collaborates with its partners and regional stakeholders to create a long-range transportation plan that conveys the overall guiding principles for the prioritization of capital projects, as well as policy and planning initiatives, to enhance North Jersey’s transportation systems. With each plan, a new challenge comes to the forefront that may not have been fully explored in past plans—from security concerns post-911 to resiliency post-Sandy to pandemic response and recovery. It is clear that our planning practices need to embrace a foresight first philosophy that both anticipates change and enables sufficient dexterity to adapt. At this first edition of “TPA Tuesdays” we will further explore the concept of anticipating and adapting to change with thought leaders in transportation and planning.
