Walking is a basic human right.
Safety for pedestrians is an issue in the U.S. and throughout the world. In the world’s fastest-growing cities, deaths are projected to grow to 2.4 million per year by 2030, even though the majority of people in these cities don’t own cars. Most cities spend the majority of their budgets on building more roads for cars. We can work towards making walkable, transit-friendly cities by designing for pedestrians first.
