In Delhi, India, a new initiative aims to increase the number of female bus drivers in a workforce of nearly 15,000 male drivers. Yogita Puril, one of the city’s first women bus drivers, is one of only three in her depot. In addition to contributing to gender equality among those working in the industry, the program has also reportedly increased confidence and a feeling of safety for passengers.
