The Transit Friendly Planning Program at NJ TRANSIT has received the prestigious 2023 NJASLA Design Award | Merit Award for their work on Transit Friendly Planning: A Guide for New Jersey Communities. This ASLA-NJ award is a testament to the dedication, creativity, and innovation mustered to promote sustainable and transit-friendly planning practices in New Jersey.
The Guide discusses the fundamentals of transit-friendly planning and is intended to assist community members, elected and appointed officials, members of planning and zoning boards, technical planning staff, community groups, and those who are interested in making land use decisions around transit facilities that assist in improving mobility and access to transit.
