Each year, NJ Future recognizes local projects, plans, and policies that demonstrate smart growth principles in action. In 2016, the organization honored Bloomfield Station, a redevelopment effort that replaced old parking lots and dilapidated buildings with vibrant new structures in close proximity to its downtown train station. The Township has embraced transit friendly practices that have enhanced walkability and drawn new residents to the community.
