Transit Oriented Development, Explained

A look at transit oriented development (TOD) including Orenco Station, built in 1998 in Portland, Oregon and the seven station TOD effort in Arlington County, Virginia. The video explores factors that contribute to successful TOD including density near stations, walkability, attractive station areas, appropriate mixes of land use, and land available for development and discusses how TOD principles such as reduced parking and housing unit size make places more livable while also curbing traffic and GHG emissions.
