AvalonBay began construction on Phase II of the Somerville Station transit village, adjacent to Somerville Station on the Raritan Valley Line. The project will add 117 apartments to the 257 units completed during Phase I. Completion is expected by Fall 2027.
Vacant N.J. Malls Could Become Housing Under Proposed Law

A proposed NJ bill, S1766, would enable the conversion of underused office parks and vacant shopping malls into mixed-use developments by overriding local zoning rules that prohibit housing in certain commercially zoned areas. Efforts are already underway in Eatontown to redevelop Monmouth Mall into the 1,000-unit Monmouth Square.

State and private leaders broke ground on Addison Park, a 293-unit affordable housing development for seniors that will also host on-site supportive services. The project received $85 million in financial support from the Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development and will be located near Addison Road-Seat Pleasant Metro Station.
OREGON—New Affordable Homes Paired with Services Open in the Heart of Portland’s Central Eastside
