See the Dramatic Street Changes Happening in Hoboken & Jersey City

It didn’t happen overnight. Rather, little by little over the last several years, Hoboken and Jersey City have improved their streets and made them safer and more enjoyable for all users, including pedestrians and bicyclists. These Hudson County communities have used a variety of techniques: daylighting at intersections, pedestrian infrastructure, protected bike lanes, rain gardens, bike carrels, road diets, and placemaking to name a few. Every time a road is paved offers them the opportunity to employ their guiding principle, Complete Streets, an approach to planning, designing, building, operating, and maintaining streets that enable safe access for all people who need to use them, including pedestrians, bicyclists, motorists, and transit riders of all ages and abilities.
